We are delighted to share that Centre for Neuromuscular Disease at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London, UK has received the Accredited Duchenne Center status. This excellent center led by professor Rosaline Quinlivan has been a leading expert center in terms of adult DMD care for many years already and we were honored to come visit this center and meet the wonderful team of specialists.
The ADC committee was led by prof. Imelda de Groot, the program leader, who was joined by Associate Professor Erik Henricson, the Advisory Board Care expert and dr. Karolina Podolska, the patient representative from World Duchenne Organization.
Professor Quinlivan decided to apply for accreditation as she is an active member of the Accredited Duchenne Center Program Advisory Board and felt that going through the process with her center is important. „It was so helpful to have your feedback and suggestions and your peer review was also a very good experience for our team, it was greatly appreciated and although nerve-wracking, a good experience,“ prof. Quinlivan encloses.
Neuromuscular Complex Care Center (NMCCC) has been granted accreditation as Accredited Duchenne Center for adults with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. According to questionnaires collected from patients of this center, all respondents were very satisfied with care provided and, above all, emphasized that the team reacts very quickly to send referral and letters if needed, they are compassionate, easy to talk to and have genuine interest in patients. The ADC Committee was particularly impressed by the Transition Team and collaboration with Great Ormond Street Hospital in terms of transition of care.
We congratulate professor Quinlivan and her team and wish them continuing enthusiasm in providing quality care to patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
