Dr. Victor Gomoiu Children’s Hospital – Center of expertise in rare neurological diseases has been granted the title of Accredited Duchenne Center for children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. 

The neuromuscular team, led by Associate Professor Raluca Ioana Teleanu as the pediatric neurologist, showed they provide multidisciplinary care according to the latest care recommendations and state that the ADC team’s insights have been invaluable in helping to identify ways to enhance patient care.

The ADC committee visiting this center was led by prof. Imelda de Groot, the program leader, prof. Rosaline Quinlivan, the Advisory Board care expert, and doctor Agneta Golan, experienced patient expert. They viewed this center as a well equipped hospital with many specialists under one roof and appreciated a good relationship that the specialists have with patients and their parents. 

The center closely cooperates with Romanian patient organization DMD Care Association. 

Achieving the accreditation status can help patients feel confident about care provided in their center. In the words of dr.
